About the Programme

Wellington City Council is currently consulting on District plan Change 72, including provisions changes that will massively change one of NZs most archaetypal family suburbs. "DPC 72" will dramatically change the housing density in many Wellington suburbs, changing their look & feel (their population numbers & demographics) enormously, while placing considerable additional pressure on existing infrastructure.

Johnsonville is one affected area which is arguably beyond its capacity in many ways, and is much further distant from the CBD than other affected areas. This programme seeks to explore the effect on existing residents, and encourage them to participate in current WCC consultation. Residents have until 27 November to provide feedback on proposed changes, or they will become a fait acompli. Hosted by members of the Johnsonville Progressive Association with invited participation from WCC planning staff.
