About the ProgrammeCapital Irish was conceived in 2003 by Tim Collins (a Limerick man) who was working in Wellington and saw the need for an Irish radio station. Tim drew a team of locals together and formed Capital Irish. The programme includes modern and traditional Irish music, book and movie reviews, Irish news, local events and activities with an Irish flavour plus interviews and live music. All of the Capital Irish presenters are of Irish birth to keep the whole thing authentic. At present the team is made up of Roy McGuinness, Jim Friel, Colm McNulty, Neasa Scanlon, Michael McCormack, Daniel McCaffrey and senior presenter / promoter / anchor Margaret Aitken. The programme is produced and engineered by James Greally. If you would like to contact the team, you can email to: capitalirish@hotmail.com Capital Irish is sponsored by Molly Malones; with additional support from the Irish Honorary Consul General to New Zealand - Rodney Walsh. So if you are interested in Irish culture make sure you tune in every Sunday at midday on Access 783AM. |
