Media HelpOur on-demand content can be played instantly on both Windows PC and Mac OSX. Many of our programmes can also be downloaded as MP3 files.
StreamingOur programmes are generally encoded as mono 32Kbps Windows Media files. If you have a Broadband/ADSL connection you should be able to play and download these files without a problem. If you have a Dial-Up connection you may find the content stops and starts because of the slower connection speed. We have recently reduced our encoding rate from 56Kbsp to 32Kbsp to assist users with slower connections. If you are running a Windows PC: Simply click on Listen Live, or the "Listen" button next to the programme. Windows Media Player will launch automatically and start playing the content. If you are running Mac OSX: We suggest that you use the VLC Media Player (also available for the PC). VLC is a free piece of playback software which can be downloaded here. To hear our live stream launch the VLC Media Player. Go to File / Open File and enter the Media Resource Locator: http://www1.streaming.net.nz/meta/accessradio-56.asx To playback other content we suggest you download the programme as an MP3 file.
