About the Programme

Kia Ora – I’m Sophia and my programme is called The Peace Train. The Peace Train is essentially the expression of an emerging Culture of Peace, where the true Spirit of Humanity is finding the courage and wisdom to Stand Up and Speak Up at last against a violent culture of domination and destruction.

Today, this culture of violence and domination of the many by the few has lead the world to the brink of disaster and the real threat of nuclear annihilation of all life on Earth. Those who dare to speak up for peace, for freedom and justice for all, are helping humanity to reclaim its true spiritual nature, interconnected to the irrefutable Laws of the Universe. These men and women of faith and courage are true visionaries who work passionately to make a difference by contributing their efforts to a hopeful future of sharing the planet’s abundant resources, restoration of our eco-systems to sustain life on Earth and to preserve the future for tomorrow’s generations, where unity and peace will prevail in a world without war, without poverty and hunger and without threat of a nuclear holocaust. Their vision will help humanity to create a future free from fear, the recognition of its true spiritual heritage and the potential to express its soul creativity.

Each fortnight, The Peace Train visits peace activists across the globe from India to the USA, Sri Lanka to New Zealand, to name a few. These have included Nobel Peace Prize winners such as Muhammad Yunus of micro-credit fame from Bangladesh to localised community workers like Ron Ngata from Hamilton, who is the first Nonviolent Communication or NVC certified trainer in NZ. Other cultural creatives, visionaries and spiritual leaders we have visited on our Peace Train include Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Benjamin Crème, Dr Marshall Rosenberg, Al Gore, Dennis Kucinich, Neale Donald Walshe and Dr Helen Caldicott.

In summary, The Peace Train highlights and celebrates the growing global movement Toward a Culture of Peace. It also highlights the rise of People Power, the People’s Voice, Speak Peace in a World of Conflict and the world of Spiritual Teachers. It shares and gives a voice to peace activists, cultural creatives and spiritual leaders everywhere, the art and expression of non-violence, a vision of world peace and planetary healing. It is dedicated to all those who share a vision of hope in our innate divinity, faith that goodness will prevail, a belief in the way forward and a deep conviction that the long dark night of the soul will soon end.

Kei Tua O Te Pae! Beyond the dark horizon the new day is dawning! So come on everyone - jump aboard the Peace Train and let’s create a happy planet where we can live and share a lasting Culture of Peace.
