Thinking Crime - Think Again
On-Demand Content:
About the ProgrammeThinking Crime – Think Again is a new radio programme run through Wellington Access Radio. The radio show will host discussions about our justice system, debate issues of interest with victims of of serious crime and homicide, government agencies, victims support services, lobby groups, community groups, and corrections. What will make this programme unique is that the concerns of victims will be central to all discussions. This is important as many victims find themselves side-lined and frustrated by a legal system that is slow and unresponsive to their needs. The presenter, Kyro Selket, describes herself as a social commenter. In 2010 Kyro was awarded her PhD in Human Geography from Victoria University. Kyro has worked in various community groups as well as having worked briefly as an alcohol and drug worker in Christchurch Women’s Prison. She has also personally experienced a homicide when her partner’s son was murdered in 2009 and the resulting aftermath of that homicide. Please feel free to contact me selketky@gmail.com. Tune in every four weeks on Saturday at 3pm. |
