About the Programme

Welcome Home is a programme where people who have chosen to make New Zealand their new home talk about their journeys here and the various challenges faced in adjusting to a new life in a foreign land.

As we listen to the different voices and different accents, we also hear the same hopes and dreams in each of them - the desire to be heard, understood and finally, accepted. To belong.

We will also listen to the Kiwis, both as individuals and as organizations, who have stepped out to welcome them here, making the settlement process a little less painful and difficult.

We hope that these stories will not only promote better understanding and respect, but they will also affirm the belief that there is indeed strength in diversity.
