Anofale Fa'atupu Ola Pasifika

Anofale Fa’atupu Ola Pasifika is A Pasifika Community Programme for our Pasifika Babies and Pasifika Families.

It is our pleasure to share our story of how this program started.
In December 2018, seventy Pacific women in the Hutt Valley were interviewed and a study published about how antenatal classes for Pasifika women could be improved. Why? Because many Pasifika pregnant mama often did not attend local antenatal classes. The study was supported by the Hutt Valley District Health Board, and carried out by Pacific Health Services Hutt Valley; and Naku Enei Tamariki Incorporated.
Following the study, Nanai Mua’au, CEO Pacific Health Services Hutt Valley was successful in securing the Ministry of Health Pacific Innovation Award.
In 2019, Joy Sipeli, Executive Director of NET Hutt Valley was employed as the Project Manager to establish the program. The Program is a joint collaboration between Pacific Health Services Hutt Valley and Naku Enei Tamariki Incorporated.
In 2020, Vesi Leilua-Toilolo was appointed as the Project Coordinator for the Anofale Fa’atupu Ola Pasifika Antenatal / Postnatal Support Programme.

An antenatal support group for women in the Hutt Valley who are pregnant and/or have children under 2 years old. Led by Pacific Health Service Hutt Valley in partnership with NET Pacific division, and funded by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
